Without exception the best Greek restaurant in the area. It gives you joy every time you decide to eat there, because you are always received so incredibly warmly. The portions are perfectly matched and every meal is a real treat for the palate.

One of the best Greek restaurants I know. Everything just tastes good and all without exception friendly, nice and competent and fast. The only "mango" is perhaps the volume in the restaurant and especially on the huge terrace ... The "first" romantic date is a bit difficult and, to be honest, perhaps not to be recommended ... BUT the taste of every further date 😁 without a reservation is .... to get there with only 2 people almost hopeless. out of approx. 6 spontaneous visits, it worked for one. But it's worth it !! Price / performance is really okay .. Everything is recommendable .. BUT .... if you order meat from the oven with or in Metaxa sauce .... you will be addicted to it 😍👍🏼

For years / decades the first port of call if you want to eat Greek food. For someone like me who can never make up their minds, the menu is a little too big. Very tasty food, super nice service and owner family. In the interior it gets very noisy with many guests, it doesn't bother me personally.

Amazing service, very friendly. Fantastic food. I have lived in Germany for the past 4 years and on my 18th birthday I me and my family ate here because it was my favorite place to eat at. I had to recently move back to the U.S. and I miss Poseidon.

Often full and hectic there, but that speaks for the poseidon. You are always served friendly. There is a wide selection of starters, drinks and Greek main courses. Desserts are also delicious. The strawberry sauce is a dream. It is best to call and reserve in advance. We always had a nice table no matter how many people we were.

Ordered the fish plate, shrimp, calamari, salmon were all very good.

Food was great as always, staff was very friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately did everything take a very long time to arrive at the table including a 35 (!!) minute desert.

Some of the best Greek food I've ever eaten. Anywhere. Came here often when I was assigned in the area from 13-16. Food always hot and very tasty. Pleasant servers and family. And they serve Kirner bier, one of the few beers brewed in this area that tastes good (trust me, not all German breweries are the same).. Absolutely recommend eating here if you're in the area..

My wife and I weren't pleased with our meals. One appetizer was microwaved, did not taste fresh; mystery meat in her dinner entre; lamb filet was dry and chewy.

Literally the best greek food I have ever had in my life. The atmosphere and ambiance are superb. The customer service you experience here is hard to find in europe. Such a beautiful place and food that takes your breathe away. I need more than 5 stars to rate this place.

Wonderful atmosphere and great service. The food is great and I highly recommend people to swing by and give it a try. I have enjoyed been there 2x now and plan on going again because both times I have been there I enjoyed myself.

The food is great, the waiters are really friendly and they are capable of handling large orders in a surprisingly short amount of time. Tip: don't have the Halva for dessert if you are not that into sweets.

This place has consistency in excellence

We went to Restaurant Poseidon at 1130 on a Saturday and had an amazing experience! The waiter was very helpful and even offered to translate the menu for us (native language is English). We were very well taken care of throughout our meal. The food was amazing as well! Very generous portions of excellent food. The restaurant is only about 10 minutes drive away from the Church in the Rock in Idar-Oberstein, which makes it an ideal location to eat if you want to escape the crowds for a little bit. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more!
